Why Empower Your Maintenance Associates:
I spent over twenty years working in maintenance and
maintenance supervision. The last ten years I worked as
an Adjunct College Professor teaching numerous Skilled
Trade Apprenticeship courses at 3 different colleges in
Michigan and Ohio. It became painfully clear to me that
America is losing the manufacturing battle as I
have watched more and more jobs go overseas.
Why is this travesty happening? They try to tell us
it is because of cheap foreign labor. But I believe
cheap foreign labor is a smoke screen. I seem to
remember that Direct Labor is about 15% of Cost of Sales
(C.O.S.). So why are they trying to work on the small
end of the dumb stick? Why dont they concentrate on the
other end where the big money is, the 85% C.O.S. Direct
labor really makes up a small part of the true C.O.S.
Are your associates
empowered? Have you given
them all of the technical skills training to perform
their job effectively? If I asked your associates,
would they tell me NO? Bottomline's objective is
to provide you with the tools you need to easily improve
their skills in Safety, Electricity, PLC, Hydraulics,
Pneumatics, Welding, and more. We provided DVD/CD
Interactive Maintenance Training Programs so you can be
competitive in our Global Market today. We must
learn to compete worldwide again.
We all know that maintenance training is important.
The problem is do how we find the time to train and
manage training without spending an arm and a leg or
getting bogged down with complicated training programs.
I feel we can make American manufacturing number one in
the world again.
Manufacturing is the backbone of America.
Manufacturing made America great. But with no
backbone the body crumbles and dies. A long, slow death
is ahead of us unless we get back into the fight.
